WIC (the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) is a federal nutrition program that empowers low-income and nutritionally at-risk families. We provide crucial support, including nutritious foods, breastfeeding guidance, nutrition education, and referrals to healthcare and social services. Every day, WIC empowers over 6.8 million mothers, babies, and young children with critical nutrition and health services. The National WIC Association (NWA) stands behind the 12,000 public health agencies that make this work possible. We provide the WIC community with the training, guidance, and advocacy support they need to build a healthier nation for all. NWA's mission is to provide our members with tools and leadership to expand and sustain effective nutrition services for mothers and young children. Our members are State and Local WIC Agencies; individuals, students, and retired WIC staff; and industry members whose vision for WIC aligns with our own.
